We are almost through the first week!

Today we are learning about lab safety.  Students will pair read on pages 178-179 the different aspects of lab safety, then use the whiteboards to draw the safety symbols.

There will be a quiz on lab safety tomorrow worth 25 points.  Students should know the basic lab safety procedures and what each symbol signifies.

The science log is "What two levels of behavior are acceptable in the classroom?  Why?"

Today we learned about acceptable levels of behavior: conformity and democracy.  The biggest difference between the two is that conformity requires external motivation, and democracy acts from internal motivation.  Both follow the rules and procedures of the class.

The students made a poster of all the levels of behavior, and they will be resposible for knowing what level of behavior they are acting in.

The science log today is "Name the two lowest levels of behavior and give and example of each."

There is no homework.  Students recieved their books today, and will be required to bring them to class every day.
